Rules for Breaks

RULES FOR BREAKS

  1. For all cards, the team that gets the card is the team officially designated by the card manufacturer’s website. Special circumstances and rules follow:
    1. In the rare event of the player on the card wearing a jersey different from the team emblem on the card, the card manufacturer website’s indication of the team controls.
    2. A card that features multiple teams (either multiple players, or has multiple teams designated by the manufacturer), the card will be assigned to a team by randomization.

  1. For any signed memorabilia, the item will go to the following team, in order of Priority:
    1. If the item contains a single team logo, the item goes to that team.
    2. If the item contains a single player number that indicates only one team, the item goes to that team.
    3. If the item notes a particular year (not including Hall of Fame indication), the item would go to the team the player was on that year. Examples might include a Superbowl championship (the item goes to the team for that year), or Rookie of the Year, or MVP with a year, the item would go to the respective team for that year named.
    4. If the item contains two team logos (an example might be a split helmet), the item is awarded to one of the two teams by random determination.
    5. If the item otherwise contains no indicia of a particular team, we look to the player’s team history. The item would then be awarded to the team the player was with the longest.  In the event that there is a tie in the number of seasons between top teams, we take the top two tied teams and randomize the winner between those teams.

  1. All random determinations are made via physically random objects (i.e. dice, coin flip) or by reliable electronic random determination (i.e. website random.org), at the discretion of the stream’s moderator. Once teams are randomized, no trading teams is allowed.

  1. No trading or sales of cards is allowed on the stream, either during or after a break. Due to the complexity of sorting out cards and the need for accuracy, Blue Goat Card Breaks cannot make exceptions on particular cards or memorabilia, or facilitate trades between buyers—the cards and items go to those who bought them through the website.

  1. All breaks proceed regardless of the buyer’s presence or not. A buyer may not be awarded a refund in the event that he/she is unable to watch the break.  The stream moderator reserves the right to delay completion of a break to a later date (usually in the event of an unfilled break or late hour).  In those events where the break is delayed or not completed in the same streaming event, a refund may be requested by the buyer.  All streams are broadcasted and recorded on Twitch “blue_goat_breaks” https://www.twitch.tv/blue_goat_breaks and may be viewed there in addition to TikTok and other streams.
  2. For Football Breaks, the following specific team rules apply for moved franchises: Houston Oilers = Tennessee Titans.  Old Browns = New Browns.  The item goes to the current franchise descended from the named historic team (with the exception of the Browns.)
  3. For Basketball Breaks, any historic team will go to the current franchise that descended from it.  For example: Minnesota Lakers = LA Lakers.  Buffalo Braves = San Diego Clippers = LA Clippers.  Cincinnati Royals = Kansas City Kings = Sacramento Kings. Etc, Etc....

THE DETERMINATION OF THE STREAM’S MODERATOR IS FINAL.  ANY QUESTIONS OR ISSUES SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO blugoatbreaks@gmail.com AND NOT PRESENTED DURING THE LIVESTREAM.  THE MODERATOR ALSO RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DELAY ISSUANCE OF AN ITEM, PENDING INVESTIGATION INTO WHO THE ITEM SHOULD GO TO.
